On November 6th, 1854, John Philip Sousa, who is known as the "The March King", was born in Washington D.C. He composed over 100 marches, including "The Stars and Stripes Forever". As a side note, J.F. Wagner was known as "The March King of Austria" (he was not related to the famous Richard Wagner.
